CENTRAL NEW YORK JUNIOR SOCCER ASSOCIATION
SCHOLARSHIP FUND GUIDELINES

OFFICIAL NAME
The official name of this scholarship program shall be the CNYJSA  Scholarship Fund.

ADMINISTRATION
This scholarship program will be under the direct supervision of the CNYJSA board of directors. The board members will be directly responsible for administration of the scholarship program.

PROGRAM DETAILS

• Each year the Board will determine the total dollar amount of the scholarship fund. CNYJSA expects to fund the scholarship program annually, in the amount of $1000.00.
• Between two (2) and four (4) annual scholarships will be awarded.
• Scholarship amounts will range from a minimum of $250.00 per recipient to a maximum of $500.00 per recipient. 
• The award will be for one year only.

 QUALIFICATIONS

1. Applicant must be in their senior year in high school in Central New York
2. Applicant must have played soccer in CNYJSA during their Junior and Senior years of High School. The applicant should have played soccer during their elementary and secondary years. It is not a requirement that the applicant play high school soccer.
3. It is not a requirement that applicants in high school play soccer at the college level.
4. Applicant must be applying for enrollment at a junior college or (4) four-year college/university and present CNYJSA their acceptance/committal letter.

5. Applicants must currently play for a CNYJSA Club Team.

6. Applicant is required to complete the CNYJSA Scholarship Application and return the completed application with required supplementary forms by the application deadline.
7. Application must be typed or hand-printed. Photocopies can be used for supplementary required material. 
8. See application for the specific deadline date. Successful applicants will be notified by early June.
9. No sooner than September 1 and upon proof of college enrollment (such as a student ID number or a letter from the college), scholarship funds will be mailed directly to the financial aid office of the recipient's college/university.

SELECTION CRITERIA

1. Applicant's level of involvement in youth soccer, either as a player, referee and/or coach.
2. Applicant's level of involvement in extra curricular activities, both in school and in their community.
3. Letters of recommendation.
4. Scholastic ability.
   No applicant will be disqualified because of sex, race, color, creed or religious beliefs.
